Illinois Drunk Driving

 

Illinois Drunk Driving Laws are harsh and costly if convicted.  You need to know the consequences.
 
All across the country, states are getting tough on drunk driving.  It is a very serious criminal offence and has some very serious consequences if you are ever convicted.  Illinois is no exception.  Driving Under The Influence is dangerous and can be deadly.  

Illinois considers a blood alcohol content of .08% or high as being legally drunk and over the limit to drive.   

If arrested, an Illinois Drunk Driving Conviction will have the following penalties.   (fines and sentences subject to change)

  • 1st Offense Conviction – Fines to $2,500.  Jail terms up to 1 year.  Driver’s license revoked for 1 year.
  • 2nd Offense Conviction  – Fines from $600 to $10,000.  Jail terms up to 2 years.  Driver’s license revoked for 5 year.
  • 3rd Offense Conviction – Considered a felony.  Fines up to $25,000.  Jail terms up to 3 years.  Driver’s license revoked for 10 year.
  • 4th  Offense  Conviction – Considered a felony.  Fines up to $25,000.  Jail terms up to 3 years.  Driver’s license permanently revoked.

If you are pulled over and arrested for a DUI in IL, it is imperative that you get legal consol right away.  You need to have someone representing you that has successful court representation in dealing with the Illinois Drunk Driving Laws.  

The Dui Laws of IL are very harsh and implemented so that Drinking And Driving should not be an option for you.  Driving with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit is dangerous and can be deadly.  It is definitely not worth the risks.
